RF/High-Speed ProbesConn./Switch/PCB

Product Overview

High-frequency probes are testing probes designed to establish RF communication connections—whether through direct contact with a circuit board, via RF switches, or through coaxial connector interfaces.
We offer a range of standard products with various frequency ratings (2–18 GHz) and tip configurations, tailored to specific test points and connector types.
By utilizing highly durable and reliable test probes, you can ensure accurate and stable communication and testing environments for signal transmission from the test point to the entire system.

Typical applications: RF characteristic testing, antenna testing, and high-speed communication testing.

Product lineup

Probes for connectors

We offer a wide standard lineup of probes for connectors used in automotive, telecommunications and consumer electronics, including connectors with miniature switches.

Supported connector types Connector probes (HSD, FAKRA)
Probes for U.FL plug connector and MM8030 switch

Probes for PCBs

We offer a variety of probes designed to match the layout of your test points.

INGUN RF test probes are available for the following PCB test points:

PCB: PCB layout with different levels
PCB coax closed: PCB layout with closed ground/ring and signal guiding to inner side (multi-layer)
PCB coax open: PCB layout with open ground ring and signal guiding to outer side
PCB coax kidney: PCB layout with kidney-shaped ground/ring and continuous signal guiding to outer side
PCB side: lateral PCB contacting

■ Selection criteria for PCB probes

In order to optimally fulfill a range of test requirements, various versions of RF test probes are available.

Selection criteria include:

  • Test point to be contacted
  • Frequency and/or data rate
  • Installation area (space available)
  • Ambient conditions

E.g. U.FL

Coaxial test points

Rotationally symmetrical RF test probes are used.

Examples of coaxial test points:

  • SMA connectors
  • U.FL connectors
  • Miniature RF switches

The contact tip is optimally designed based on the connector.

Position orientated test points

Non-rotating RF test probes are used.

Since the contacting direction of position orientated test points is fixed, the probe tip is designed not to rotate.

Examples:

  • PCB signal-ground structures
  • RF test pads
  • Differential patterns

Standard HFS Standard HFS RF probe HFS-810/840/860/865

Standard RF probes

Standard RF probes for coaxial and position-orientated test points.

  • Available for various frequency ranges
  • Pressed or screwed into the receptacle (socket)
  • For position-orientated test points such as PCB pads, the probe is aligned accordingly
  • Fixed or free-moving (floating) mounts are available to balance out the mounting tolerances of coaxial test points
  • Plug connectors such as MCX, MMPX and SMPM connect the probes to the test set-up
Short HFS Short HFS RF probe HFS-410/440

Short RF probes

Short RF probes for applications with limited available space.

Typical applications:

  • Strict height restrictions inside the fixture
  • Standard RF probes do not fit
  • High-density PCB assemblies
Flange HFS Flange HFS RF probe HFS-822

RF probes with fixed flange

  • Contacting without cable movement
  • Stable signal transmission
Flange HFS RF probe HFS-856/819

Flange + floating contact tip

  • Freely moving tip for optimal alignment to the test point
  • Reliable, repeatable measurement quality
Diverse HFS Diverse HFS RF probe HFS-864

Diverse RF probes

  • Dipole measurement (Kelvin measurement): high-precision 4-wire measurement
  • PIM-stable measurement (PIM: Passive Intermodulation): an important characteristic for mobile base stations and antennas
